A new year. Well what does this mean? Going to try and make and create a resolution list of what I need (well want, but let’s not get side track here!) to do for the upcoming year! As it’s 2012, what a year to make 12 resolutions. Plus 12 is the reverse of 21. Which I’m turning this August.

Anyway, let’s begin shall we? Let’s see by the end of 2012 how many promises I didn’t would have kept. In no particularly order of importance…

1. Blog more regularly. I seem to always seem to go through the same phase where I would be extremely enthusiastic about blogging at first, but then due to being lazy or whatever, I completely stop with the intention of writing 50+ more, With 20 of them written, but not. As in the idea is there, but not completed. I’m not really expressing my ideas properly ok.

2. Settle for a blog (design). No seriously, this is one of the underlying factors that is preventing me from blogging at all. It seems as though I can’t decide on anything whether it be from the blog layout, to how the categories should work. Since registering for this domain, I’ve been toying with the blogging with separate blogs for separate interest, but I don’t see how that is going to work since I probably wouldn’t make enough posts and eventually the cycle is going to repeat and the blogs would just end up dying.

3. Finish my NUFS blog. Considering one of my biggest chapters has finished and I’ve neglected it since August 2011, I really need to go moving on just finishing it up.

4. Keep up with Japanese. And well any other languages I’m learning too i.e. Mandarin. I mean, just because I’m not in Japan anymore doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t keep up with it. でしょう？

5. Lose weight. Well rather, get down to a healthier weight range/become healthier. Considering I’m Asian and not being tall, I’m actually borderline overweight. Meaning I should get back to my pre-massive-weight-gain weight. Though I don’t want to be 40kg, even though being Asian that would be completely fine, it’ll also mean I have to lose more than 30 pounds. Which is not going to happen.

6. Exercise. Considering the last time I’ve done proper exercise was months ago, and playing sports were years ago, I need to start working out. Plus it goes hand in hand with number 5.

7. Eat better (i.e. have better eating habits). Yeah, I’m cheating a little bit by not combining 5, 6 and 7, but if I didn’t do that I don’t think I would have enough resolutions. Plus, on a level, they are separate but related things. But stuff I have more but smaller meals, eat breakfast and what not.

8. Save money (or spend less). My mum has been nagging me for years, but it’s definitely time to save some. Especially since I want to buy a house/ get a laser procedure for my eyes. And to be fair, the money I’ve spent on buying books I don’t need, and games I don’t want, I would have probably be halfway there to get the procedure done.

9. Buy only the things I need (or really want). No seriously. As mentioned before, I have a tendency to buy stuff I already have or that I buy things and never really use them. For example I have manga haven’t read, and games I never played at home. At Japan, I splurged so much at the 100yen store… New rule this year; I will only buy things I actually need to use at the time, or things I know for sure I would use. And it goes well with no. 7.

10. Don’t buy chocolate. No seriously, being in Japan… it was the bane of my life. There were simply so many flavours to try, whether it be specifically from a region, or seasonal. The morning before I left Japan, I ended up just trying boxes of chocolate that I didn’t try throughout the year. Probably also made me not being able to lose weight. But it doesn’t mean I can’t eat chocolate… just I can’t buy it.

11. Be more social. I’m not exactly the most sociable person around. And I probably won’t be that person. But I do know that I need to get myself out there

12. Find a job/work out the next stage of my life. Well considering I’m in Hong Kong for a good amount of this year, and being on a student visa I can’t find a job, I would have to wait until I get back to Australia.

There. Let’s see how it keeps up.
